Sex and Characters
Over on Razored Zen, Charles has an interesting discussion of female characters he found erotically appealing. Which makes me suspect we need two lists, one for characters that appeal to us as CHARACTERS, another for characters we found memorable because they were sexually appealing. I know Lymond would top both of my lists, but there are several characters who would appear on only one list.

This calls up an interesting difference that I have to think about. I wonder if men would separate those items out as clearly, strong female characters that they like as people, versus female characters that they would just like to sleep with.
Much here depends, I suspect, not so much on the characters as drawn by the authors as on the reader and his/her confidence in him/herself.
That said, you can also have a gross, unattractive person of either sex who is truly memorable and whom you appreciate as a well-drawn character. Oh dear, do I see another list looming?
Sex with Misfit Lil would be delightful. But you would have to live in her time, which is the late nineteenth century when society might not make it easy for you. You would also have to be of the right age (Jackson Farraday's problem in my books about Lil). You would also have to appeal to her, of course.
