It Never Rains But It Pours
I’ve been MIA for a while, having injured my eye while cleaning up the overgrown garden at my mother’s old house. Since I’ve always been almost blind in my right eye, and I injured my left eye, life has not been easy. The eye is slowly mending, but I still can’t see very well, and I now have TWO edited manuscripts demanding my immediate attention.
That’s right: the manuscript of the thriller I sent in to my editor last October has only just been returned to me with her revision suggestions and line edits, after five months. The editor of my next Sebastian mystery (which I turned in at Mardi Gras), has also just returned the manuscript to me for revisions. After five days. One is due for release this coming October, the other this coming November, which means both editors want the revisions done ASAP.
Yes, I know I’m lucky to have even one book contract in this economic climate, let alone two. But still...

I can't think of anything more awful than to have the pressure on you to read closely and not be able to! I wish I could offer some suggestions of help.

Busy seems to be the sign of the times around our group at the moment.
i sympathize, candy... at least in the eye department, having had surgery on both of mine a week ago friday... and told they'll take three months or so to heal properly

That's a tough call with needing work done and resting your eyes so they heal properly. Can someone read the notes on the revisions to you, and then you dictate something to be typed up later? When my eyes are tired I can type several paragraphs with them closed without many errors. You could form your ideas that way and then insert the sentences later when your eyes are less sore.
I hope my idea can help you in some way.
Now *this* would be a good use of the Kindle's now-suspended file-into-speech function!
